My guests today are Lucas Foster and Jason Kannon. Lucas is headed to Beijing to compete in the 2022 Winter Olympics. The first part of this interview is with Jason Kannon, former professional snowboarder, and trainer and mentor to not only Lucas Foster, but many pro snowboarders. The second part is a re-broadcast of my July 2021 interview with Lucas Foster.
Jason and I discuss Jason's background in athletics, including an accident he suffered riding in Wyoming. He shares how this experience helped shape his philosophy on life and coaching. We also discuss Jason's experience growing up in martial arts. He attributes the lessons he learned to give him the ability to survive his snowboarding accident. He teaches current snowboarders the same lessons that helped him, to train their minds to be prepared for the rigors of competition at the highest level.

In the second part of this episode, Lucas Foster and I discuss:

  • What separates a gold medal snowboarder vs middle of the pack snowboarder?
  • What’s the best and worst advice Lucas ever received?
  • How do you go from one of the best in the world to THE best in the world?
  • What are 3 habits or daily activities that are non-negotiable to achieve success?
  • Lucas' secret performance hack
  • Balancing cheering for teammates and competing with them
  • and much more
