Food is integral to our survival and health, but it’s common for those with trauma to exhibit disordered eating, whether that be a history of dieting, bingeing, or fasting. These behaviors are truly a reflection of our dysregulated nervous system, and only once we start to heal it can we find food freedom.

During this episode, we’re talking about the health of our relationships with food and our body, and how nervous system regulation is a path to trauma healing. Jennifer and Elisbeth share their personal experience with distorted eating, and how they achieved food freedom.

We also explore the topics of diet culture, intuitive eating, the “good woman narrative,” and how food drives components of complex post-traumatic stress disorder, such as inner critic and perfectionism.
