As we age, being intentional about incorporating exercise into our lifestyles becomes crucial. Weak back muscles and a lack of flexibility are common culprits of chronic back pain. Strengthening the body and maintaining flexibility is essential to combat the aging process and support back health.

Posture plays a significant role as well. Prolonged periods in poor postures, such as sitting with rounded shoulders, can lead to back pain. It's important to be aware of your posture and take breaks to correct it.

The little things matter too. Incorporating mobility and flexibility exercises into your warm-up routine can contribute to overall back health. Don't overlook these small but significant aspects.

Overtraining and overloading your body without adequate rest and recovery can also result in chronic back pain. Finding a balance, allowing for gradual progress, and prioritizing recovery are key to avoiding overtraining and its negative effects.

Now armed with this valuable information, it's time to take action. Identify the areas that resonate with you and make changes to your weekly routine accordingly. Strengthen weak areas, work on flexibility and mobility, mind your posture, don't neglect the small stuff, and prioritize recovery.

If you need further guidance or assistance, reach out to the clinicians at Physical Therapy San Pedro. They are here to help you on your back health journey, whether virtually or in person.
