Manage episode 285186792 series 2338187
Shame says something is wrong with me. Shame is an emotion, I should say, that we feel in our bodies. Shame often comes up when things don’t go how we wanted or planned them to go.
I think we all have some version of a shame story in our lives. And when we don’t have a managed brain, we often go to this story, with thoughts like “this is all my fault or I should have known better or this is all wrong because there’s something wrong with me and if I were better or more loved by God, then I wouldn’t have made this mistake, and then this terrible thing wouldn’t have happened.”
The truth is, we are going to make mistakes in our life. We will feel shame and want to blame. But I want to invite you to a new experience of making mistakes.
Listen and learn today while I talk about the shaming and blaming cycle and how to break it.
