When you think of joy, what comes to mind? Anything in the last two years? You might be thinking, joy, how about oh boy instead! Today’s gal pal Yolanda started the pandemic party like the rest of us feeling “oh boy, this stinks, this is hard” and through her own circumstances and journey, she learned to find a new level of joy. If that is not living like your nail color, I don’t know what is! Listen in to be encouraged and inspired.

Yolanda Gray is a certified holistic life coach with a Bachelor of Science in human development and a Master of Arts in human relations. For over twenty years, she has been facilitating workshops, leading retreats, speaking at events, and coaching women in the areas of personal and spiritual growth and alcohol recovery. Through it all, she inspires us to take back our lives from chaos, anxiety, stress, and more.

In this episode we talk about:

  • How to create more moments of joy for ourselves and others.
  • Four tips to flip moments of sadness, loneliness, or malaise into moments of joy.

Here’s a glance:

[4:22] Being chatty, friendly, and fun fits right into Yolanda’s glitter gal persona and favorite go-to color, pink.

[7:59] Yolanda believes joy is a multi-faceted statement deep in our hearts and spirit.

[11:47] How to maintain joy during difficult times, such as a pandemic.

[15:00] Yolanda says that joy is found in community, not in solitude, and stresses the importance of living in gratitude.

[21:20] Why do joyful people sometimes irritate us?

[25:26] Yolanda recommends the book Life is Messy for practical ideas that create moments of joy.

[31:21] More tips on how to create, find, chase, and live in joy.

[36:22] To those who don't believe they deserve joy, Yolanda says it is all about choices.

[41:52] In the Pink is the perfect description of how Yolanda views joy and the name she created for her nail polish color.

[43:13] How to reach out to Yolanda and join her Facebook group.

[44:36] In the Flip the Chip segment Mary shares how she cherishes the ordinary and encourages us to do the same!
