The first book in her new series about a woman who is blind, Emily Maine, and her guide dog, Garth. Barbara shares how a visit to the Foundation for Blind Children ignited her passion to raise awareness for people who are blind and their guide dogs.
She wants to tell the story of their path to independence and their incredible relationship with their canine partners. Guiding Emily is an uplifting and upbeat view of what could otherwise be viewed as a devastating tragedy. Barbara shares how she embraced the guide dog world to do research for her new book. She also shared what it feels like as an author to have her best-selling book, The Christmas Club, turned into a movie for the Hallmark Channel.
