In this week's episode, Northeast president Ricky G. Ford talks about the reinstitution of a mask mandate for indoor spaces on Northeast property and helpful tips on how the college can fight the Omicron variant and the COVID-19 virus. Ford gives an update on registration for seated and online classes and also announces a big award for the members of the Northeast Honors Institute -- which includes a $250 scholarship/stipend to help each member with the purchase of college-related materials such as their iPad and other accessories. Ford gives insight into ongoing projects such as the technology and wireless upgrades at the Northeast at Corinth campus and the purchase of the former Corinthian Furniture building at 2100 W. Chambers Drive that will become one of the top-of-the-line career and technical facilities in the nation along with a conference center that will be serviced by members of the Northeast hotel/restaurant management department and the culinary arts students. Ford gives a rundown of events happening in the upcoming weeks such as home basketball games on Tuesday and Thursday against Southwest Mississippi and Copiah-Lincoln, the Technology Student Association (TSA) Conference on January 27, the Future Business Leaders of America (FBLA) conference on February 3 and the Creating Futures Through Technology Conference on the Mississippi Gulf Coast on March 2-4.
