For 180 days out of the year our children will spend the majority of their childhood in the care of people other than their parents. We need to ensure that the people charged with teaching our children are also charged with protecting them. Many schools are danger zones. The number of school teachers sexually abusing students is rising in virtually every state. An estimated 10% of students will experience school employee sexual misconduct by the time they graduate high school.
