Johan Guilbert “YoH ViraL” is a professional poker player from France. He has over $4,500,000 in live tournament earnings, putting him in the top 500 on the all-time money list. His largest tournament score of $892,811 came in Rozvadov when he finished 2nd in the 2021 World Series of Poker Europe (WSOPE) Main Event. He is the most popular French poker vlogger with over 175,000 subscribers and close to 1,000 videos.

Filmed in Seoul, South Korea and hosted by experienced poker broadcaster Ali Nejad, Game of Gold combines high stakes poker with survival reality TV. Over the course of the 12 episodes, the sixteen participants competed across various poker formats, including Sit & Go’s, Heads-Up games, Indian Poker and a standard tournament poker game.

The poker players on the show included Daniel Negreanu “KidPoker”, Jason Koon, Fedor Holz “CrownUpGuy”, Kevin Martin, Kyna England, Josh Arieh, Daniel Cates “Jungleman”, Lukas Robinson “RobinPoker”, Nikita Luther ‘HiiiBarbie’, Charlie Carrel “Epiphany77”, Johan Guilbert “YoH ViraL”, Olga Iermolcheva, David Williams, Andy Tsai “Andy Stacks”, Michael Soyza and Maria Ho.

In Round 1, a four-tier Sit & Go poker format, each team (spades, diamonds, hearts and clubs) put a poker player into a separate round of four-handed poker action, with Game of Gold coins on offer for finishing first, second, third, or fourth. The rounds increased in the amount of coins that were offered, until the fourth ‘mystery’ round, where no-one knew how many coins were on offer. The team with the least Game of Gold coins at the end of all four Sit & Go’s would be eliminated.

The final six players competed in a winner-take-all format Sit & Go (SNG). This was unique as it meant there was no Independent Chip Model (ICM) pressure on any of the poker players.

Preflop:
While heads-up in this Sit & Go version of the show, Maria Ho calls from the button, which is also the small blind during heads-up play, with AKo. Yoh Viral decides to slow-play and checks from the big blind with pocket aces.

Flop – Qd Jd 7s:
Yoh Viral leads out for 300,000 on the flop with a disguised overpair, a backdoor flush draw and a backdoor straight draw to broadway. Ho calls with two overcards and a gutshot straight draw to broadway.

Turn – Kh:
The K of hearts on the turn prompts Yoh Viral to slow down and check while still holding an overpair to the board and now a gutshot straight draw. Ho turns top pair, top kicker with her big slick and decides to put out a value bet of 470,000. Viral just decides to call as they head to the river.

River – 3c:
The 3 of clubs comes on the river and Yoh Viral checks once more with his pocket aces. What will Ho do with her disguised pair of kings and ace kicker? Will she check or bet? Stay tuned until the end of this poker video to find out!
