I opened this episode with a brief monologue (if you want to call it that) regarding the importance of Juneteenth in the United States. I would be remiss in not acknowledging the significance of this day to me as a Black man and to other Black people in the United States.

If you're not familiar with this day, here's a brief overview from Wikipedia.

Juneteenth (officially Juneteenth National Independence Day and historically known as Jubilee Day, Black Independence Day, and Emancipation Day) is a federal holiday in the United States that commemorates the end of slavery, and is regularly observed with celebrations of African-American culture. Originating in Galveston, Texas, it has been celebrated annually on June 19 in various parts of the United States since 1866.

The day was recognized as a federal holiday on June 17, 2021, when President Joe Biden signed the Juneteenth National Independence Day Act into law. Juneteenth's commemoration is on the anniversary date of the June 19, 1865, announcement of General Order No. 3 by Union Army General Gordon Granger, proclaiming freedom for slaves in Texas.

FYI, the opening quote in the intro of this episode were stolen from our Juneteenth newsletter at my shoot job. I wish I were that eloquent.

6-9-1995

We took a break last week, but we still wanted to discuss a match that makes the case for being the greatest tag team match of all time. Hell, it makes a case for being one of the greatest matches ever, regardless of match type or stipulation.

A match that is so significant in professional wrestling that it's simply known by the date in which it occurred. That match is the Super Generation Army of Mitsuharu Misawa and Kenta Kobashi taking on Toshiaki Kawada and Akira Taue, formally known as the Holy Demon Army.

My good friends Tomas and Fro joined us to talk about what makes this match such a masterpiece as well as what makes the Four Pillars of Heaven such an unbelievable quartet of talent.
