In our exploration of how we got the Bible, we're reminded of the beautiful interplay between divine inspiration and human transmission. The Bible isn't just a book that fell from heaven; it's a thoroughly human book that speaks God's words to His people. We see this exemplified in Exodus 17 and 24, where God instructs Moses to write down His words. This process of recording God's actions and instructions became the foundation of Scripture. As followers of Christ, we're called to trust in the Bible's authority, not because of human decree, but because of its inherent divine nature. The transmission of Scripture over thousands of years is a testament to God's faithfulness and involvement in preserving His message for us. When we approach the Bible, we're invited to see it as both a historical document and a living, breathing testament to God's love and guidance for humanity. Let's approach Scripture with reverence, knowing that in its pages, we encounter the very words of God, carefully preserved through the ages for our benefit and transformation. 0:00 - 15:00 Chapter 1: Introduction and the Nature of the BibleWe explore what the Bible is and why it's important to understand its origins. 15:00 - 30:00 Chapter 2: The Transmission of ScriptureWe delve into the historical process of how the Bible was written and passed down through generations. 30:00 - 45:00 Chapter 3: Addressing Common Concerns about Biblical ReliabilityWe address common questions and misconceptions about the Bible's reliability and accuracy. 45:00 - 60:00 Chapter 4: Conclusion: Trusting God's WordWe reflect on the implications of understanding the Bible's origins and transmission. So many of us struggle with anxiety. It can often feel like God is mad at us for feeling anxious, but what if there is a way to experience God's nearness in your anxiety and find immense comfort and love? What if your anxiety can be used by God to bring you a deep security and dependence on Him? How we talk about anxiety can make a big difference. Philippians 4 (ESV) 4 Rejoice in the Lord always; again I will say, rejoice. 5 Let your reasonableness be known to everyone. The Lord is at hand; 6 do not be anxious about anything, but in everything by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known to God. 7 And the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.…

1 Healing your faulty views of love (1 Corinthians 13) // Holy Spirit pt. 3: Orthopraxy // Trey Hayman 43:15
In this video, we talk about one of the more famous passages in the New Testament: 1 Corinthians 13, which concerns love. Love is a word we throw out. But what does it truly mean to love? What is love about? How do we know what it is and what it isn't? Chances are, you've probably been told some lies about what love is. In this message, we talk about how God wants to heal that within you. 1 Corinthians 13 (NLT) 13 If I could speak all the languages of earth and of angels, but didn’t love others, I would only be a noisy gong or a clanging cymbal. 2 If I had the gift of prophecy, and if I understood all of God’s secret plans and possessed all knowledge, and if I had such faith that I could move mountains, but didn’t love others, I would be nothing. 3 If I gave everything I have to the poor and even sacrificed my body, I could boast about it;[a] but if I didn’t love others, I would have gained nothing. 4 Love is patient and kind. Love is not jealous or boastful or proud 5 or rude. It does not demand its own way. It is not irritable, and it keeps no record of being wronged. 6 It does not rejoice about injustice but rejoices whenever the truth wins out. 7 Love never gives up, never loses faith, is always hopeful, and endures through every circumstance. 8 Prophecy and speaking in unknown languages[b] and special knowledge will become useless. But love will last forever! 9 Now our knowledge is partial and incomplete, and even the gift of prophecy reveals only part of the whole picture! 10 But when the time of perfection comes, these partial things will become useless. 11 When I was a child, I spoke and thought and reasoned as a child. But when I grew up, I put away childish things. 12 Now we see things imperfectly, like puzzling reflections in a mirror, but then we will see everything with perfect clarity.[c] All that I know now is partial and incomplete, but then I will know everything completely, just as God now knows me completely. 13 Three things will last forever—faith, hope, and love—and the greatest of these is love.…

1 Unity not uniformity // Holy Spirit pt. 3: Orthopraxy // 1 Corinthians 12:12-27 // Trey Hayman 45:20
If you haven't noticed, we live in a divisive time. Jesus invites us into a new way of being, not avoiding conflict or hard conversations, but pursuing unity. Unity is not uniformity. Unity actually can even celebrate diversity. In this message, we look at what the apostle Paul had to say to an early group of Jesus followers concerning their unity and the lessons we can learn in this time.…
In this message, we take a deep dive into different spiritual gifts. Drawing heavily on the work of Jon Thompson in his book, Convergence, and offering definitions of each gift (largely from Convergence), we talk about different categories of spiritual gifts and how to figure out what gifts you have. As mentioned in the message, followers of Jesus can and do disagree about how to define and describe spiritual gifts, but our hope is to provide an operative framework and space for discussion. Discover the profound impact of spiritual gifts in the life of a believer. Spiritual gifts are divine abilities given by the Holy Spirit to each follower of Jesus, meant to build up the body of Christ and serve one another in love. These gifts are categorized into love gifts, word gifts, and power gifts, each serving a unique purpose. Love gifts include administration, helps, mercy, and generosity. Word gifts encompass teaching, exhortation, apostleship, leadership, shepherding, and evangelism. Power gifts involve prophecy, speaking in tongues, interpretation of tongues, intercession, faith, discernment, words of knowledge, healing, and miracles. Understanding and using these gifts can transform your life and the lives of those around you. Learn how to identify your spiritual gifts, apply them in daily life, and make a significant impact in your community. Keywords: spiritual gifts, Holy Spirit, love gifts, word gifts, power gifts, body of Christ, Christian service, biblical teaching, faith, prayer, healing, prophecy.…
