The Philadelphia Phillies bats broke out in a HUGE WAY as they beat the Royals Saturday night, 11-2! J.T. Realmuto and Ranger Suarez led the Phils to their much needed laugher of a win.

Suarez made his return after missing the last month of the season with a back injury and though Ranger didn’t go the distance the was very efficient. The lefty tossed 5 innings of one-run baseball allowing just 4 hits and striking out 6. He would pick up his 11th win of the season and his first since June 8th against the Mets….in London!

While Suarez’s return is a great bump to the rotation, the Phillies’ line-up has struggled to find consistency. They’ve been in need some luck to be on their side. In the 6th inning, Lady Luck showed up. To start the Phillies half of the 6th, the Royals let a pop-fly off the bat of Nick Castellanos drop between their second baseman and right fielder do to a lack of communication. Then Bryson Stott hit what is nine out of 10 times a 4-6-3- double play ball. But the ball bounced perfectly off the lip of the grass and over the head of second baseman Michael Massey and into center field. Just like that, the Phils had runners on 1st and 2nd and no outs as they looked to build on their 2-1 lead. That’s when the J.T. Realmuto Show started.

The “Best Catcher in Baseball” smashed a 3-run homer to left field to extend the lead to 5-1. Then in the 8th inning, with Castellanos and Stott on again, Realmuto hit his second 3-run homer of the game. This one on a change up that he hit 424ft to left-center field for the Phils to go up 8-2. Realmuto added an RBI ground out in the 9th, for his career high 7th RBI of the game.
