Though the 2010s provided us with all the survival games we could hope to play, Subnautica (2018) was a unique masterpiece with its almost entirely undersea setting, top-notch environmental storytelling, and subtle horror aspects sure to trigger even the smallest case of thalassophobia!
We dive into our favorite biomes and what it's like to explore them, our spookiest experiences with the dreaded leviathans, and the incredible immersion that comes from discovering the story as you traverse this handcrafted ocean planet.
This game also gives us the perfect opportunity to debate some of our favorite proteins, salmon and sirloin. Jess passionately defends the simplicity and delicateness of his favorite salmon fillets, while Bennett holds his ground on the bolder flavors of his favorite sirloin steaks.
The discussion finds its way to a more general consideration of fish vs. beef, where we find some common ground and reveal our favorite restaurants for finding these delicious meals.
