Eugene Peterson talks about discipleship and following Jesus as long obedience in the same direction, taking one step at a time with the Lord, and being obedient is what it means to be a follower of Christ. But, as many of us know, obedience is challenging. We sometimes have our questions, concerns, and even fears when God calls us to follow Him, but obedience is all about surrender and submission.

There's so much freedom in letting go, and like John the Baptist said, "I must decrease so that He may increase." The more that we surrender and submit to the way of the Lord, the more boldness and confidence we will have knowing that our good God is leading us to streams of living water.
