1 Patti Truant Anderson: Polling and the Surprising Results Around What People Really Think About the Food System 24:55
Text “Do people even want to know about some of these issues? Because I think some of the meat production concerns, it's kind of like people would rather in some cases, I think some people might not really want to know all the nitty gritty. They don't want to know how the sausage is made. That poses an interesting question and challenge about how you communicate about some of these issues, when maybe there's a resistance among a subset of people who don't want to know more.” - Patti Truant Anderson This is the fourth episode in a special four-part series where we go deep into the food system with some of the brightest minds from Johns Hopkins Center for a Livable Future, an interdisciplinary center based out of the Johns Hopkins Bloomberg School of Public Health. One of the reasons that we did this series is because we're about to enter another four years with the Trump administration; and last time, as we know, the Trump administration was pretty terrible for the food system in terms of climate, public health, worker safety, and of course, for the animals. This conversation is with Patty Truant Anderson. Patty is a senior program officer at the center. Part of her work at the Center focuses on public opinion polling around the food system. These polls can inform decisions by lawmakers. The great news is we're not nearly as polarized as it might seem. There is a lot of hope in the results. Many people try to find excuses why they shouldn't or don't have to respond to the Gospel. Paul answer those excuses in Romans 10.

There are four steps to receiving the Gospel. 1) Obeying God, 2) Relying on God, 3) Surrendering to God and 4) Hearing Christ.
Light is very important. (Even AI agrees.) For our spiritual lives, the light of Christ is also important.

In Romans 10:14-15 it shows us the process to get the gospel to unbelievers.
As we complete our 3 part series on the Promise of Life in Romans 10, we look at five things it shows us that Christ is.

1:04:49In Romans 10:5, Paul is saying that the Law that God gave Moses can give life. We look today at what that means and why we still need Jesus.

Many Jews and religious people think that if they do enough good stuff, that will get them to heaven. But being zealous about something isn't enough.

Christ is often a stumbling block for religious people because they are looking for righteousness in the wrong place.

When we try to make our salvation about what we have done to attain it, we start relying too much on what we think we can do to get it and to keep it, But we are not able to and when we think we can, we start thinking too much of ourselves.

Some people think that, in the Church Age, God is done with the people of Israel. But a closer look at Romans 9 shows us that He still has plans and a purpose for His chosen people.

God has the sovereign right, as the Potter, to mold His vessels into whatever He pleases, whether for honorable use or dishonorable.

Paul tries to answer questions that people may have before they ask them, such as - is God fair? Is God unjust to exercise His sovereign choice? Why then does God still seem to blame us?

1:05:46As we look at God's sovereignty, it shows us that justice does not demand mercy. God's righteousness demands mercy, but in His sovereignty, He provides mercy.
