20-year-old attacker Louie Barry was once on the books of Barcelona, he became the first Englishman to play for the Spanish giant’s famous academy La Masia during his time with the Catalans.
For one so young he has been subject to much fanfare and headlines, he was famously dubbed ‘little Vardy’ by Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp after he announced himself to the world scoring on his Aston Villa senior debut in an FA Cup clash with Liverpool back in the covid times of January 2021.
Since then, Barry has found his pathway to Villa’s first team laden with expensive obstacles in an era of super money in the premier league.
He has since embarked on a series of loan move in the English lower leagues in a bid to gain valuable experience for his development.
Today, he finds himself in League Two with Stockport County on a season long loan and at the time of recording the prodigy has scored in his last 5 League Two games.
So is Louie Barry finally on the pathway to living up to Jurgen Klopp’s Vardy compliment over two years ago?
