On this episode of Cyrus Says, Cyrus is joined by Amol Muzumdar, Cricketer and Cricket Coach, one of the greats in Indian cricket, to talk about Amol's amazing and long career in domestic cricket, the fact that he paradoxically never played for India internationally, Amol breaking the record for the highest number of runs scored in domestic cricket in Ranji Trophy, how Amol got into cricket, coming from a very sporty family where his father and uncle used to play for their bank's cricket teams, how Amol wanted to be an athlete at first, scoring a century in his first U15 game, being on the same school time as Sachin Tendulkar and Vinod Kambli, how he was to be the next batsman during the famous Sachin-Kambli 664 runs partnership in their school days, Shivaji Park being the place for burgeoning cricket talent in the 80's, having to answer the question about why he feels he never made it to the international team despite his amazingly stellar record and history, how he got over that, making the move to Assam later, the best batsman he ever saw in person, the best bowler he ever faced, coaching the South Africa Cricket team and how that came about, whether not having the Ranji Trophy play in this past 2020-2021 year was a good or bad decision for the BCCI, and lots lots more about the sport of cricket and Amol's career.
