When you were looking for properties, did you look at ratings? Ever wonder why properties do not all have 5-star ratings on average? This is because perhaps as few as one in 100 guests thought something was not up to their standards. Perhaps the water at the beach was too cold.
Ratings of less than 5 stars should be the result of something that the host has failed to do starting with an accurate description of the property. If you arrived and found the sink dripping you should the host immediately not as you are leaving. Allow the host to fix the issue.
Unfortunately, some try to beat the managers out of earned income. The maker claims that are false when they are leaving or have left. Some may be telling the truth e.g. the leaking sink but did not allow the host to fix it at the beginning of the stay and expect to be compensated. Property managers are fully aware of these bad actors and will take appropriate action to protect their properties. It's a shame that this must be discussed in this forum.
