AGC #9 - MATTY BRUMBY on Turning Tragedy To Triumph
Manage episode 363210761 series 3472003
Adversity causes some men to break; others to break records.
In this episode of the ANY GIVEN CHANCE Podcast, we talk to Matty Brumby on pushing boundaries and living life to the fullest.
Matty is a true inspiration who has defied the odds and accomplished feats that seemed impossible. At the age of 22, he was involved in an accident that left him paralyzed from the waist down. However, instead of giving up on life, he pursued his dreams with passion and dedication.
He is now a Gold Medalist and Co-Captain of the Australian Invictus Team, recently qualified for the Ironman World Championships. This is a remarkable achievement considering that there are only four hand cycle spots available worldwide. The race includes a grueling 3.8km swim, 180km hand cycle through the city of Kona and lava fields, and a 42.2km racing wheelchair run.
His tenacity and determination are truly incredible. He pushes the boundaries of what a paraplegic can achieve by participating in activities like jet skiing, surfing, and even freestyle motocross, making him the first paraplegic in the world to hit a freestyle motocross ramp!
So tune in and learn how to make every moment count!
