35 - Remaining Calm in Election Season
Manage episode 350121178 series 3422472
Jordyn and Pearl are back this week with their take on maintaining mental health during the election season. This episode starts, as many do by talking about books. The hosts then give Jordyn a space to toot her own horn, and Pearl to toot it back with a retraction to a previous comment made in an After Dark Episode. The hosts offer a behind-the-scenes at the Tricky Existence photo shoot with Paige (@paigeopnw) including some light choking play.
The two move into the meat of the episode by talking about their election involvement, their coping skills, and what their plans are for staying politically active but mentally sane during the ongoing and upcoming election season. They offer some tips and tricks to staying motivated and using your privilege while providing care for yourself during this time. Both share their experiences with the 2020 election and brush over the difference between experiencing politics inside and outside of a university setting. Also, fuck Kim Renolyds.
Questions to explore this week:
1. Why are elections impacting me in the way they are?
2. What can I do to make local changes?
3. How can I support myself and those around me right now?
