A director, cinematographer, and producer known for his work on the first six "SAW" movies, "Hellraiser: Revelations", "The Gravedancers", "Skinwalkers", "2:13", "Pawn", dozens of episodes of MTV Cribs and so much more... my guest on Episode 247 is David A. Armstrong. I reached out to him on q whim after watching the first "SAW" movie for the first time in a while. not expecting to even hear back. We exchanged numbers and hit it off with a regular phone call then scheduled this episode. We go into a lot here. Behind the scenes of the "SAW" movies, especially the first one. Between the restricted, relatively small budget, timing and logistics of the film, it was a small miracle that it was even made. We talk MTV Cribs, his directorial debut working with Ray Liotta on "Pawn", and the reasoning behind the making of "Hellraiser: Revelations". A very cool look behind the scenes and a bunch of banter. It was an honor to speak with him. I hope you enjoy. Respect. 1:37:08My guest is a legendary figure in the hardcore scene. With a resume that spans forty years. He's played in bands such as Blind Approach, Agnostic Front, Madball, The Eulogy, and currently H2O. Ladies and gentlemen, Matt Henderson. We run through his entire history from growing up in St. Paul, Minnesota, and the formation of Blind Approach to playing CBGB's and planting the seeds to lifelong friendships with future members of some of the bands he wound up playing in. He then decided to move to Boston to go to school from Minnesota and, with the friendships made in the past, opened the doors to joining Agnostic Front. From there, the rest is history. Sit back and enjoy this history lesson. Respect. Support: Generation Records 210 Thompson Street West Village, NYC Intro: Phil LoCastro & Joseph A. Cassar Intro Visuals: Marc Kutik Edits: Nick Light…

1:28:43I finally had the chance to sit down with my friend, Danielle Dombrowski. She's been photographing hardcore and metal shows since the mid-90s, owns a successful hair salon, and also does wedding photography. We discuss what made her step into the hardcore scene, where she grew up, and some of the earliest shows she shot. With hundreds of shows under her belt and thousands of photos to show for it, her craft is second to none. This was a cool, laid-back conversation. I hope you enjoy. 1:10:24This was a very long time coming. My guest on this episode of The Brooklyn Blast Furnace Podcast is one of The Godfathers of Hardcore... singer for Agnostic Front, The Alligators, The Disasters, former bass player for The Psychos and Madball... author of "My Riot: Agnostic Front, Grit, Guts & Glory" and his new book, "WITH TIME: The Roger Miret Archives"... ladies and gentlemen, one of the greatest to ever do it... my friend, Roger Miret! We had a cool, laid-back conversation about everything from his books, holding onto memories, how hardcore and the culture is so important to us, and many other people on a personal level. I decided to pick his brain about one of my all-time favorite AF records, "Liberty & Justice For...", what's going on with The Alligators and what's next up for Agnostic Front. I'm grateful for the time he put aside for me. Especially since he rarely does podcasts as well as taking time away from his family to talk to me for a little while. Nothing but the utmost respect. 1:07:05A brand new episode of The Brooklyn Blast Furnace Podcast has dropped. Smash this: https://linktr.ee/thebrooklynblastfurnace My guest this time around is Lil Dee " Danny James. Ridiculously talented, born and raised and representing Coney Island. He wrote his first rhyme at ten years old. He was killing cyphers at twelve and hasn't stopped since. With his 20th birthday fresh behind him, he isn't even close to stopping. In my opinion, he was pulled right out of the golden era and placed here. A lyricist with clever word play, punchlines, and touches on relatable topics. Something a little different for everyone. Check him out and support this kid. He has crazy work ethic and is constantly grinding. 1:14:30When I say Bayway... you say... Motherfuckers, my guest on this episode of The Brooklyn Blast Furnace is JayWay. Singer for Bayway, 25 Ta Life and guitarist for Shattered Realm. He also has a rap project out under the name JayWay 908. Bayway has quickly caught on with the hardcore scene, and I'm all in as well. I met Jay only a couple months ago in person out on Long Island at a show. We started to bullshit for a few minutes and asked him if he'd be down to come on. We go into that certain moment that we all have that was our turning point headed into the hardcore scene. A couple of his former bands, and eventually the birth of Bayway. He is also the new singer for the legendary 25 Ta Life, so of course, I had to ask how that all came about. A super humble guy who loves and appreciates every aspect of making music and playing liv. He'll be back on the podcast, I'm sure. I hope you all enjoy this. Respect. BAYWAY MOTHERFUCKER! Support: Generation Records 210 Thompson Street West Village, NYC Intro: Phil LoCastro & Joseph A. 1:32:53This was one episode of The Brooklyn Blast Furnace Podcast that I honestly never thought would happen. My guest this time around is one of the founding members and legendary guitarist of Biohazard, Bobby Hambel, aka Bobby The Handball. Bobby hardly ever does interviews or podcasts, so for him to take the time out to sit with me for an hour and a half was ridiculously cool of him. We go way back to even before the formation of the band when he had a project called "Rattlehead". We then go to meeting Anthony Meo (RIP) then Evan Billy and Danny Shuler. We touch on the early days of touring, the first record, and 32 years of Urban Discipline. From the very beginning until now, a new record being recorded and paying tribute to several friends that have passed throughout the years. I hope you enjoy this as much as I did doing it. Much Respect. Support: Generation Records 210 Thompson Street West Village, NYC Intro: Phil LoCastro & Joseph A. Cassar Intro Visuals: Marc Kutik Edits: Tim Anderson Jr. and Nick Light…

Ladies and gentlemen, I give you... SKAM DUST. He came to Bay Ridge from the Lower East Side to talk shit in my living room. We talk about his recent, thirty day tour in Mexico, his upcoming tour in Chile, and his new record that should be out in the coming months. We're all over the place on this one, which is what I expected. We speak on how he always seems to find himself in random places and unique situations to say the least. SKAM rules! 1:01:41After several weeks and a much needed vacation, the podcast is back. My guest is, Queens native, international sex symbol and a guitar God. He shredded for Metal Storm (Queens) the short-lived NYHC band, FUSE, wrote, composed and played guitar and bass in Maniac Rise, toured with Merauder and filled in for a leg of an Agnostic Front tour, filling in for Craig Silverman. He also recently played several songs for the Leeway Tribute set in honor of Eddie Sutton. We go back to when he was a kid all the way up to the present. A couple of hiccups with technology in the beginning of this, but we made it through it, and this turned out to be a really good episode. Enjoy. Respect. 1:08:53It's been over five years since Jeff was last on the podcast. We both figured it was long overdue for him to come back on, especially after the tribute show that I put together in memory of Eddie Sutton in which he took part in. We talk all about the show, hardcore and metal, and go into old school wrestling. We discuss everything from Lentil soup to Dom DeLouise and new Enrage material that has been recorded. Jeff is always fun to sit and chew the fat with. This time was no exception. Enjoy. 1:45:44WHAT UP DOE? The OG Kevin Gill is my guest on this episode of The Brooklyn Blast Furnace. Kevin has been around a very long time. Being the man who was in the harcore scene early on then bringing SFT (Striving For Togetherness) into New York City. SFT has released legendary material. We go from the record label to how the 1995 NYHC Documentary came about and into his love of pro-wrestling. He has worked with a ton of promotions and companies throughout the years from (in no particular order) Game Changer Wrestling, Circle 6, Outlaw, JCW and West Coast Wrestling. Rockstar Games, Podcast One, his own podcast, The Kevin Gill Show and a ton more. Kev is definitely an interesting guy whos hustle I completely respect. Enjoy. 1:19:02My guest on this episode is someone I've known for over thirty years. Singer for Brooklyn hardcore bands, Inhuman and The Last Stand and bass player turned singer for Confusion... Michael Scondotto. We go way back to the early 90s hardcore scene when we first began to go to shows. the early days of Confusion, Nobody's Perfect, Lament, Life Of Agony, Merauder, Patterns, and several more. The days of L'amours, Coney Island High and Wetlands. It was a unique time in New York City where the hardcore scene was relatively new and thriving. Michael recently had the Confusion discography re-released on vinyl through Generation Records, which is a must-have if you're a collector. We go from Confusion to the formation of Inhuman, our love of horror movies and the birth of The Last Stand. So, sit back, relax, and listen to a couple Brooklyn Bastards take a walk through the past and present state of hardcore. Enjoy.
