Everyone has a dream. But sometimes there’s a gap between where we are and where we want to be. True, there are some people who can bridge that gap easily, on their own, but all of us need a little help at some point. A little boost. An accountability partner. A Snooze Squad. In each episode, the Snooze Squad will strategize an action plan for people to face their fears. Guests will transform their own perception of their potential and walk away a few inches closer to who they want to become ...

Rydym ni’n parhau i drafod ffresni rhyfeddol barddoniaeth Dafydd ap Gwilym yn y bennod hon, gan bwysleisio bod newydd-deb ei gyfansoddiadau wedi’i greu gyda deunydd crai traddodiadol i ryw raddau. Ystyriwn ychydig o ganu serch Dafydd, gan ddechrau â’r cywydd ‘Morfudd fel yr Haul’, cyn craffu ar y modd y mae dwy thema fawr, serch a natur, wedi’u plethu ynghyd yn ei waith. Trafodwn yr ‘oed yn y coed’, a’r bardd yn cyfarfod â’i gariad ym myd natur yn bell o hualau cymdeithas (ac yn bell o ‘eiddig’ ar adegau, pan fydd ei gariad yn wraig briod!). Er nad ydym yn ateb y cwestiwn astrus hwn, rydym yn ei godi o leiaf: a oedd y cariadon sy’n ganolbwynt i gynifer o gywyddau Dafydd yn ferched go iawn? Cewch glywed am y llatai hefyd, y negesydd serch y mae’r bardd yn ei gomisynu. Love in the Woods: Dafydd ap Gwilym (2) We continue to discuss the amazing freshness of Dafydd ap Gwilym’s poetry in this episode, emphasizing that the newness of his compositions is created out of traditional material to a certain extent. We consider some of Dafydd’s love poetry, beginning with ‘Morfudd like the sun’, before examining the way in which two themes, love and nature, are woved together in his work. We talk about the ‘tryst in the woods’ (oed yn y coed), with the poet meeting his lover in the world of nature far from the confines of society (and far from eiddig, ‘the jealous one’, when his lover happens to be a married woman!). Although we don’t answer this difficult question, we at least ask it: were the lovers so central to so many of Dafydd’s poems real women? You’ll also here about the llatai, the love messenger the poet commissions.
