Forgiving others is hard, but sometimes forgiving ourselves is even harder. In this vulnerable episode, we are opening up about what it looks like to extend compassion inward and embrace the grace God freely gives.

Tae shares a moment with her oldest daughter that left her feeling ashamed and broken, and how she had to learn to step back, self-reflect, and lean into grace instead of guilt. J reflects on the pressure of decision-making in his many roles—husband, father, pastor—and how his drive to “get it right” often left him replaying mistakes and forgetting his own humanity.

Together, we unpack the weight of self-condemnation, the danger of staying paralyzed in fear, and the freedom that comes when we see mistakes as lessons instead of life sentences. We also discuss the should’ve, could’ve, would’ve moments that keep us stuck in the past, forgetting that nothing ever catches God by surprise.
