Transformation Tuesdays was inspired by the CD "The Jesus Question" by Matthew Kelly. We recap the Gospel from the prior Sunday and give action steps and resources to transform our lives for that week every Tuesday at 2:10 p.m. at Morris Hall from Ss. Peter and Paul Catholic Church in Collinsville, IL…A Spiritual Home from Everyone… Deacon Jimmy Ghiglione: Hello, I’m Deacon Jimmy Ghiglione Aaron Emig: And I’m Aaron Emig We are now in the Second Sunday of Lent The Question for Lent is…Instead of giving something up for God…How about giving something back to God? This Lent, how will you grow closer to Him? The Gospel comes from: Matthew 17:1-9 Deacon Jimmy Ghiglione: In today’s Gospel, we hear the account of the Transfiguration of Jesus. And at the end of this scene, the Gospel says, “from a cloud came a voice that said, ‘This is my beloved Son, with whom I am well please; listen to Him.’ “ So, when the Father says this is my beloved Son, listen to Him. He’s saying to each of us follow Jesus’ example. Have you done that lately? I mean really…. sometimes we just say we are Christians, Catholic Christians, but nothing really happens. That’s what this time of Lent is for. To reflect on our life, our life through, with and in Christ. Aaron Emig: The Transfiguration…what a scene that had to be for Peter, James and John Jesus is chatting away with Moses and Elijah… Think about what was going on in their heads of those Apostles? Then Jesus tells not to talk about the vision until the Son of Man is raised from the dead… Talk about some pressure to keep that a secret when all they probably wanted to do is tell everyone what they saw… What disciple and amount of responsibility that those three Apostles had to carry with them… Deacon Jimmy Ghiglione: Jesus is telling us today in this Gospel, to let God into your life. And you have to go out of your way to let that happen. Out of your way, and into God’s way. This is my beloved son listen to Him……. Are we listening? What voices do we listen to? The noises of our busy world or the gentle voice of Jesus? Aaron Emig: We just need to put our total faith with Jesus… This is another story that Jesus is truly the Son of God… So, we need to believe even more and even harder that Jesus is the way, the truth and the life… Aaron Emig: Wisdom Words for the Week Jesus said to him, “I am the way and the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me.” John 14:6 Aaron Emig: Transformation Tool Resisting Happiness book by Matthew Kelly During Lent, you can receive daily emails from The Dynamic Catholic Institute that will have a reflection from different chapters of the book… Just go to BestLentEver.com to sign up… Aaron Emig: Transformation Tuesdays Prayer… “Jesus, how do You want me to transform my life today?” Deacon Jimmy Ghiglione: God Bless from Ss.
