Forget the Hamptons or St. Barts — all the cool girls are going to camp this summer. Shira Blumenthal, 35, can’t wait to arrive at Camp Social — a women-only adult summer camp in the Poconos costing $600 for a two-day, three-night stay. At adult summer camps, unlimited wine replaces juice boxes, French châteaus sub in for old wooden cabins in the middle of nowhere, and community swaps in for competition — although the hair-braiding and friendship bracelet-making remain.

In the headlines on #TheUpdate this Friday, A small plane crashed onto a New York highway in Westchester County Thursday night, killing one of two people on board and injuring the other, authorities said.

And in Washington, President Biden is commuting the sentences of roughly 1,500 people who were released from prison and placed on home confinement during the coronavirus pandemic and is pardoning 39 Americans convicted of nonviolent crimes.
