When “languishing” becomes a defining term for a society, you know it’s time for a talk. We’re hurting, individually and collectively. Our usual coping strategies are running on fumes. There’s hope on the horizon, but somebody keeps moving it out of view. We feel trapped in the “in between”. We need a different perspective.

Enter the poets. When I need to see the world in a different light, it’s those imaginative, attentive, “don’t fence me in” voices I go looking for. As long as we’ve been trying to find words for hard things, for mysteries, for meaning in the middle of upheaval, we’ve looked to those capable of turning a poet’s lens on the world. This Sunday, I’m going exploring in that realm. And, as I usually try to do when I head in this sort of direction, I won’t burden us with any great amount of actual poetry. Unless my notes change, it’ll be eight lines in total. We can do this…:)
We’ll meet at 10:45 online here for music and Community Time, then move into the Talky Bit. “And Lunch After” will follow at 12:30, and we’ll also have our usual Wednesday evening zoom hang. Links for both of those are below.
I’ll see you on Sunday!
Peace,
Tim Plett
