58. 20 Years An Immigrant - The Journey & Lessons
Manage episode 339622262 series 2843041
This past weekend made 20 years since I stepped on American soil as a wide-eyed, sheltered 16-year-old eager to take on the world on her own for the first time and in a new country. I couldn't think of a better way to kick off Season 6 of the podcast.
In my most personal episode yet, I'm doing my best to compress 20 years into 30 minutes. In this episode I talk about and share lessons from the following segments of my journey:
1. Getting through University and my career progression so far
2. Facing my biggest fear - the loss of a loved one
3. Traveling the world
4. Immigration matters and my challenging journey
5. Friendships over the last two decades
6. My hopes for the next season/decade
7. My hope for you, listening on the other side
It is impossible to cram 20 years into 30 minutes. There's so much I could have dug into but maybe that's a story for another platform, or even a book :). I hope my journey inspires you, or at a minimum helps you understand my experiences and how they've shaped me.
