Happy Friday folks! Today we are joined by Anita Owusu- a Clinical Therapist, Social Worker, and the Founder of Therapy & Co. Anita is trained in several modalities to help her clients navigate trauma, anxiety, depression, relational issues, and more. In this episode, Anita shares her journey as a therapist and the many things she's learned along the way. After experiencing abuse at a young age and going through the foster care system, she was inspired to work in a profession that allowed her to give the same care to others that she was fortunate enough to receive herself. Anita describes how she has been able to use her clinical experience in her personal life as a parent and some of the challenges that have come with that as well. She also talks about some reoccurring themes that she sees in her millennial clients, breaks down some myths about therapy/therapists, and explains more about her practice, Therapy & Co.
