As I recorded this episode, it was at the tail end of a week that was a roller coaster as a leader. What was supposed to be a really great week because my team was being honored for something really special turned into one that also included some really difficult people situations.

The unfortunate truth is, I allowed what was the negative minority (in terms of people involved) overshadow the very positive majority when it comes to my thought patterns and emotional energy. It led me to consider the parable of the good shepherd in Matthew and in Luke.

I began to wonder why I tend to focus so much of my mental and emotional energy on the 1 vs. the 99. Reviewing the context and meanings behind the parables of the lost sheep helped me to understand myself more as a leader.

Today I want to talk through the parallels of Jesus’ teaching in the parable of the lost sheep, and how that might show up in leadership.
