Manage episode 341660701 series 2795725
A lot of us want to become financially independent from our parents. Becoming financially stable can be hard when you have grown up in poverty and/or have not not yet healed your money wounds. Many of us may have grown up seeing our immigrant mothers and other female role models struggle with having a financial voice. As adults we may now be trying to become financially literate but we still get stressed easily because we may not have the knowledge that our white counterparts have when it comes to finances.
We all want to be financially free but for daughters of immigrants, money can often cause us a lot of stress. When womxn of color earn 55 cents to the dollar a white man earns, it is time that we learn how to find our financial voice. So how do we do this? As we kick of Hispanic Heritage Month, I am so excited to bring in a 1st gen Latinx tax professional to talk to us about using our financial voice.
