Joel and Dave discuss how our understanding of the person may be connected to our understanding of society, and consequently the role of political authority. Market economies have been naturalised as the clash or coordination of selfish individuals fearful of scarcity. This at least echoes the pessimism of viewing human nature as un-graced and entirely consumed by the fall.
