Losing a client is never easy, especially during the tough times we're in right now. As freelancers, we depend on our clients to keep us afloat and when we lose one of them, it's easy to take that loss personally.

It's important to take a step back if we start to feel that way and instead step into a neutral headspace on the subject.

In today’s episode, we’ll explore four ways you can reframe losing a client so that you see the opportunity in the challenge rather than letting it get you down or add more stress to what’s already likely a stressful time for you and your business.

"We reframed it. We saw it as an opportunity. We instilled that confidence with affirmations and we decided that we were going to move forward. We decided to make this the next step to the best moment, and the best time of our lives." ~ @avanimiriyala

1. Reframe the situation

Try to find the good in the situation. It could open up more time for you to focus on other projects and clients. Or it could be a chance to pursue more ideal clients.

2. See things as an opportunity

This might be a new opportunity for you to recalibrate your business strategy or implement new techniques with your audience. Explore the possibilities.

3. Recalibrate your confidence

The decision your client made was not personal. The reason they had to move on was simply what they had to do for their business. Your mind will naturally try to tell you there's some other meaning to it but it's important to distance yourself from those thoughts.

4. Decide to move forward

It's a waste of time and energy to sulk about the situation. Ask yourself, if this was a moment in time that caused your business to skyrocket, what would you do in the next week? This has the potential of being a turning point for you instead.
