Her murder shocked the community, as police launched an intense investigation, interviewing neighbors and gathering evidence. A key clue was a palm print found near the window, prompting police to collect thousands of prints from local men, but no match was ever found. Witnesses reported seeing Louise the evening before and a suspicious man near her home in the early hours of the morning, but these leads failed to identify the killer. Despite exhaustive efforts, including questioning local vagrants and conducting forensic analyses, the case remains unsolved, leaving the identity of Louise Dunne's killer a mystery.
