Hello Shiny Minds,

I kept hearing the same joke for years: "If you could just get over your shyness, Shiny!" :)

Obviously I was never perceived as a "shy" person by others around me, who knew me. On the contrary, my confidence and assertiveness was even "too much" for some people that I interacted with.

But...

I had something similarly challenging inside.

I did not feel strong enough to speak my truth. So I either held back or said something I didn't really feel like.

I was too afraid of being judged, being shamed and being wrong.

Until I realized that I was the one judging myself... limiting myself... not allowing myself to express freely, truthfully, vulnerably...

Because of my childhood conditioning...

Let's call it "recovering people pleaser".

Key Strategies to Overcome Shyness

  1. Shift Your Focus 🤓: Instead of worrying about what others think, concentrate on your own thoughts, feelings, and actions.
