My guests on this episode are Anne Bartlett and Jessica Perino co-artistic directors of 20 Moons Dance Theatre Company and Jeroen Van Tyne, musical director of 20 Moons and Executive Director of Stillwater Music. In this episode we talk about this year’s 2024 Durango Bach Festival which celebrates it’s opening night with FACETS, a production combining 20 Moons dancers with select musicians from the San Juan Symphony and members of the San Juan Symphony Chambers singers. This takes place at the Light Box theatre at Stillwater Music on Saturday March 2nd at 7pm. Tickets for the opening night are sold out but 20 Moons will be performing FACETS again on March 10,15, 16 & 17. The music of Johann Sebastian Bach is re-configured and re-imagined by Jeroen to include instruments that the music wasn’t originally written for including acapella pieces. The title of the production FACETS embraces a person’s many life experiences like the facets of a prism sending light in many directions. There are 11 musicians and 8 dancers bringing this performance to life through 13 Bach pieces which are sewn together through transitions making it whole. The Light Box is a new space at Stillwater Music which is available to the community as a place to present poetry, dance, theatre, comedy, improv, music and just about any creative endeavor.
