Hearing a moving song allows for us to feel so much emotion that can be difficult to express otherwise. In the struggles and trials we face in life, music and song have a way of helping us move through those emotions. Hearing someone sing can open the door to us finding restoration and hope.

That is why we are so grateful to have recording artist and songwriter, Mandie Pinto, on today's episode of The Music for the Soul Podcast. Mandie shares her experiences of recording and songwriting from leading worship in churches around California to singing the Nation Anthem in Dodger Stadium and more.

Mandy also talks about her song in the Tell Me What You See album, which works to provide hope for young girls and women overcoming an eating disorder or questioning their body image. She explains how songs like In The Image of God allow young women to see their worth and beauty in God's eyes, and also how parents can use that as a tool to help show their daughters that they matter.

Who is Mandie Pinto?

Mandie was born and raised in Southern California, where at the age of eight began taking piano lessons and subsequently ventured into voice training. At the youthful age of 14, Mandie felt the call to minister through music, and set out to sing at churches throughout the San Fernando Valley in Southern California. Now, Mandie’s music ministry takes her to churches and other venues all over the United States.

Mandie has independently recorded and released seven solo albums in the last 17 years (Angel Eyes, Someday, Count All Your Blessings, Better Things, Where You Are and In The Garden – Hymns of Serenity, Let it Rain-Live Recording from Capitol Records). In addition, Mandie recorded songs for projects released by Los Angeles Baptist High School, Azusa Pacific University, Shepherd of the Hills, and the Crystal Cathedral. Mandie is an accomplished songwriter, with several of her songs winning notable awards in the Billboard Song Contest and the John Lennon Songwriting Contest.
