Episode Title: Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom 101

Episode #2

You are listening to Hyperfixation Nation, the podcast with your host Blake.

In this episode of Hyperfixation Nation the Podcast we discuss: Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom, including The big bad boss battles and their difficulty, The side quests/adventures (mainly the ones related to shrines and stables), and exploring the depths.

Segment 1: Introduction to Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom 101

First, a quick overview of the information being talked about this episode. I will be going into depth about the 4 boss battles at the 4 temples. There is more information to be shared about these, and other boss battles but I don’t want to spoil too much. There will be some spoilers but I will say the battle I am covering beforehand so if you do not want to hear a spoiler, you can skip ahead. This episode does not have information about the main quest that you do not know from the beginning except for a how-to guide for defeating the temple bosses. I have beat the game (meaning completed the main quest all the way and fought the Demon King) so I have more hearts and weapons then I did when I was fighting those bosses but I will give information for people who were around the same place I was when fighting those bosses.

Segment 2: The big bad boss battles and their difficulties

  • What order you should do them in
  • Colgera - Rito regional phenomena boss
  • Sum of the battle
  • You are in the air and you need to shoot its 3 weak points.
  • You have to do it twice (all three for half health then all three again for full defeat)
  • It shakes spikes at you that reveal its weak points
  • Watch out for tornados (especially in the second half) - Tulin’s gusts are good for avoiding them
  • ARROWS. YOU NEED ARROWS.
  • All in the air but stamina refills for you whenever you open your paraglider
  • Have Kesse/Aerocuda eyeballs
  • Use Tulin well
  • Have basic refill-your-hearts food but no special food needed
  • Getting the dive mobility outfit will help but it is not necessary (I fought it without it but when I went against it in the depths I had it and it was useful but you do not need it to win)
  • You can shoot the weak points from the bottom but that has always been a waste of arrows for me because it heals whenever it shakes it’s spikes off
  • Mucktorok - Zora regional phenomena boss
  • Sum of the battle
  • There is sludge everywhere
  • Mucktorok is swimming in it and you need to hit him with a water blast (from sidon or not doesn’t matter. Sidon’s blast is more powerful than opal attached to a weapon)
  • Once you un-sludge it, you go and hit it with your strongest weapon
  • Repeat this process until half health then it gets more difficult because he moves around after you un-sludge him instead of staying in place
  • Sidon’s waterwall is extremely helpful because Mucktorok blasts you with sludge.
  • Splash fruit are amazing because it clears sludge on the battlefield that slows you down
  • Don’t waste arrows, just throw them
  • Movement speed up food is good because sludge slows you down
  • Have enough food to fill up the amount of heart containers you have (should be at LEAST 5) 3 times (the more hearts you have, the less food you need)
  • Arrows can be useful for this battle but they are not a necessity
  • Marbled Gohma - Goron regional phenomena boss
  • Looks like a crab and spider had a rock baby. The shape made me laugh
  • Bomb flowers are extremely useful for this battle
  • I didn’t lose that much health but it is never bad to have extra food
  • Flame resistant is necessary because the temple is in the depths on a pool of lava
  • Before doing anything with the temple in the depths, get the lightroot nearby. You need to be able to see.
  • If you don’t buy flame resistant stuff, have plenty of food that can do that
  • You want to use the Sage of Fire (I call him rocky rolly polly) to know down the drabs legs then go in with a strong weapon
  • It does climb on the walls after half health so bomb flowers work for this part but you might be able to angle rocky rolly polly so he goes up the wall
  • Queen Gibdo - Gerudo regional phenomena boss
  • Beware you do the first half of the fight before entering the temple
  • You need arrows to use Riju’s power (she is the sage of lightning and has a really cool ability)
  • Make sure to destroy the gibdo nests in the 4 corners so you only have to fight 1 giant gibdo instead of the Queen and all of its subjects
  • After destroying a hive, a giant beam of light appears. When you are in this light, the gibdos can’t reach you and they turn white. You can use this to destroy the other hives without being attacked by small gibdos
  • The biggest thing is to watch out for her sand and use Riju’s power but it takes a bit for her to build up power so keep that in mind
  • If you don’t want to/can’t in that moment then bomb flowers, firefruit, and shock fruit work when attached to a arrow
  • Once the Queen Gibdo is white, go in with your strongest weapon and smash her!

Segment 3: Outro

I have so much to talk about involving Zelda:Tears of the Kingdom that I will be doing an Episode 2 Continued so make sure to listen to that to hear about different parts of the game. Now to sum part 1 of episode 2 up!

  • Arrows and bomb flowers are extremely important for all battles
  • Fighting these boses is 100% worth your time
  • Using the sages powers help a lot with the battles, so don’t forget about them and make sure to put the little bit of extra energy to track them down on the battlefield because they like to try and help (even though they aren’t often successful

I hope you enjoyed the episode, learned something new, and had fun! This is Hyperfixation Nation hosted by Blake, goodbye y’all!
