Episode 30 - Seeking Help
Manage episode 430171634 series 3462553
Jackie talks about her recent experience of realizing she needed additional help, selecting a new therapist, signing up for mental health coaching, and obtaining a psychiatrist referral. While taking action is a great first step, that doesn’t mean it feels easy.
Denise shares her experiences of seeking help. For her, the waiting game is incredibly tedious and, sometimes, offputting. But there is growth! Like when she willingly waited in lines in Japan… She received a lot of help from AA through sponsorship. They discuss anonymity's role in those relationships and the responsibility of being a container for someone.
The duo wraps up by discussing what’s been happening lately in their lives and how to chip away at the piles of to-do’s. They continue to get closer to the launch of their in-person meetings, which they hope will be a great place for people to take that courageous first step of asking for help.
