Yes it has flaws, but one of the main reasons it holds together is the skill and dedication of thousands of nurses whose commitment above the call of duty would leave the rest of us looking lazy to say the least. Lately the headlines regarding nurses have centred around talk of working conditions, pay raises and possible strike action. When something moves a group of people so dedicated to the care of others to consider striking, I knew I had to learn more.
