What actually makes a good leader? If you ask 100 people what they think makes a good leader, you’re going to typically have very different definitions, often depending on the person’s experience with good and bad leadership.

The simple, but powerful truth is that leadership operates from one of two places - above the line or below the line - but not in the way that an accountant would assume:

• Above the line leadership is open, curious, and committed to learning
• Below the line leadership is closed, defensive, and committed to being right

In order to be a good leader, both at work and at home, you need to become more aware of where you are operating from and what to do instead.
