"Flying monkeys" is a term, as you’ve probably already connected, that’s borrowed from the Wizard of Oz story, where the Wicked Witch of the West sends out her flying monkeys to do her bidding. In the context of dealing with narcissists, "flying monkeys" refer to individuals who are manipulated or recruited by a narcissist to assist in their manipulative schemes. These individuals often act as enablers, spreading the narcissist's narrative, defending their behavior, and sometimes even participating in their abusive tactics. This weeks journal entry is themed on your personal growth and how the awareness of “flying monkeys” will inform your relationships moving forward.
