Man in custody after firing shots during hours-long police standoff in Chester County

• Police ended up in an hours-long standoff with a man who fired shots after they responded to a domestic incident in Spring City, Chester County. A shelter-in-place order in the neighborhood lasted from late Monday night into Tuesday morning.
• Philadelphia School Board member Joyce Wilkerson will keep her seat despite City Council’s efforts to keep her from remaining on the board.
• Philadelphia’s Historic District is hosting a new Fourth of July event this year. But it will take place a few days earlier than usual.
