Luke Bhencke -Gurdjieff´s Christianity - The Fourth Way’s Prehistoric Teachings of Christ, avaliable NOW at Parallax Press: https://www.parallax-media.com/books/gurdjieffschristianity A deep and practical study of Gurdjieff’s writings, understood on their own terms, reveals a profound vision. Gurdjieff indicates clearly, and at times staggeringly so, that his ""system"", commonly referred to as the Fourth Way or the Work, is the continuation of Christ’s original doctrine that should not be confused with the teachings of modern Christianity that he claims have been irrevocably and inevitably distorted. He emphasizes that this system is part of a broader esoteric lineage that stretches far back into humanity’s prehistory and coming together in the incarnation of Jesus Christ. In this context, Gurdjieff reclaims Christianity as a school of inner transformation aimed at awakening the full potential of the human being and restoring the human connection to the divine. The material provided in this book is but a glimpse into that extraordinary vision. Bio: Raised in rural and outback Australia, Luke’s background in biomedical science and physical education, with diverse interests in philosophy, religion and art - ultimately drew him to Gurdjieff’s system where he has been a practitioner working with groups and individuals from around the world since 2000. Explorations related to Gurdjieff’s Fourth Way and Christianity can be found on his blogsite at 'Faith made Flesh’…

Join our poetry Salon and Open Mic: https://parallax-media-network.mn.co/share/5hSLvQW7bNszFGEo?utm_source=manual About Joe Ross Author of over fifteen books of poetry, Joe Ross was born in Pennsylvania and graduated magna cum laude from the Honors Program at Temple University in Philadelphia. He soon moved thereafter to Washington, D.C. where he wrote his first book, Guards of the Heart, consisting of four plays written in poetic form. In Washington D.C., he worked at The John F. Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts and was extraordinarily active in the cultural scene of that city. He served as the President of the Board of the Poetry Committee at The Folger Shakespeare Library from 1994-1997 and as the Literary Editor of the arts bi-monthly The Washington Review from 1991-1997. He also Co-founded and directed the In Your Ear poetry reading series at the District of Columbia Arts Center. During these years Ross continued to publish poetry, including How to Write; or, I used to be in love with my jailer (Texture Press, 1992); An American Voyage (Sun & Moon Press, 1993); Push (Leave Books, 1994); De-flections (Potes and Poets, 1994); Full Silence (Upper Limit Music, 1995); and The Fuzzy Logic Series (Texture Press, 1996). His poetry reveals close links with the "Language" poets but seeks in its often disjunctive structure, puns, and linguistic riddles, to be accessible to a large audience. Many of Ross's poems are subliminally political while concerned with love and interrelations between individuals. The American Voyage, in particular, concerns the idealism of American culture and its failures as a culture to live up to those ideals. Douglas Messerli, Publisher of Sun & Moon Press In 1997 he received a National Endowment for the Arts Fellowship Award for his poetry and moved to San Diego, where he worked for The City of San Diego Commission's for Arts and Culture. In 1999, he left that position to put his poetics into practice, and to work directly in politics. He served as the Senior Chief of Policy for several elected officials. He also continued to be very active in the San Diego cultural scene, serving as a board member of the San Diego Art Institute and Co-founding and curating the Beyond the Page reading series in that city. Two more books appeared: The Wood Series (Seeing Eye Books, 1997); and EQUATIONS=equals (Green Integer, 2004). In 2003 he received his first of three Gertrude Stein Poetry Awards. In 2004, he moved to Paris, where he continues to publish while working in communication and social change. In this episode, artist and cultural activist Melvin Jarman dives into "The Art of Enlivenment," exploring the intersections of creative thought, spiritual awakening, and personal transformation. Drawing on the ideas of Rudolf Steiner and Jean Gebser, Jarman discusses how living thinking connects with artistic expression and social change. Joined by insights from Bonnita Roy as a great influencer to his personal path and his research on organizational development as well as the art of cookery as a metaphor for transformative processes, this conversation weaves together creativity, consciousness, and community-building. Tune in for a rich dialogue that bridges thought and action, art and spirit. In this inaugural episode of *Roots of Enlivement*, host Cordula Frei engages in a deep and thought-provoking conversation with guest Melvin Jarman. Together, they explore the alchemy of cooking, the process of renaturing, and the wisdom of thinkers like Bonnita Roy, Jean Gebser, and Rudolf Steiner. The discussion illuminates the concept of "enlivened thinking" in response to times of crisis, offering fresh perspectives on how we sense-make and reconnect with the world around us. The episode invites listeners to reconsider the nocturnal, feminine aspect of the psyche, an archetype that calls us back to our origins and primordial trust. Frei and Jarman share their personal journeys in embracing this process, providing insights into how this deepened connection can foster resilience and creativity. As the first in a series of dialogues on ecology, psychology, and creativity, this episode sets the stage for a rich exploration of our inner and outer worlds. Featured guest: “My name is Melvin and I work mainly as a chef, consultant and coach around the core theme of being regenerative, both in how we act in the world as individuals, and in how our organizations are operated. My work is centred around learning and applying the challenging and enlivening ideas and practices laid out by Rudolf Steiner and Jean Gebser, and thinkers who have developed their work further such as Bernard Lievegoed, and contemporaries such as Jeremy Johnson.…

I was born in Boston 70 years ago when McCarthy was getting his comeuppance. I lived with my family somewhere in Massachusetts before moving to Belo Horizonte, Brazil , as part of the Department of the Interior’s Punto Quatro program where my father was instrumental in mapping the geology and training a generation of Brazilian geologists. I began writing aged ten at the American school of Sao Paolo which had scorpions in the sandbox. I won a turtle for my prose. Then we lived in Chevy Chase, Maryland before moving to Athens, Ga. Where I met the poet Colman Barks and other luminaries. I moved to Chicago and studied briefly under Del Close at Second City and David Mamet who was then directing the Goodman Theater. As well as Richard McKeon at the University of Chicago who taught Susan Sontag among others. Then I returned home and drove a car from Selma, Alabama to Warminster Pennsylvania, possibly damaging the transmission while accelerating against the snow and ice. The next three years in a bankrupt New York City were richness incarnate. I worked at the Oh Ho So restaurant in SoHo and as a busboy served Harry Belafonte, one of the reasons God created humans, a glass of water. I had Alice Notley, poetess supreme, for a teacher and read my prose work at the Saint Marks in the Bowery Poetry Project. Those were wild times, buildings burning, trash uncollected, rapes a’plenty, and great generosity from compassionate lawyers, doctors and dentists for the impoverished lot we were. You could easily meet people such as John Cage, Merce Cunningham, John Giorno, Ted Berrigan, David Byrne, Patti Smith, Fred Sherry, Nam June Paik, Allen Ginsberg, Gregory Corso, Charles Bernstein, Tony Towle, Bill Berkson, Eileen Myles, Ted Greenwald, John Cale, Lydia Lunch, Alan Vega, and avoid others such as Valerie Solanas. And then just as I was about to join a rock and roll band I moved to Paris. It’s been 45 years. Odd jobs subtitling movies and Sipa Photopress Agency photographs. Doing journalism for English language papers, interviewing the B- 52’s, Peter Brook, Zouc, Herbert Achternbusch, Paul Lederman, Boris Bergman and then working for Bull and Alcatel two fine French corporations employing hundreds of thousands who equally vanished into the capitalist sunset. Thanks to a flutist friend in Ircam I got to meet Karlheinz Stockhausen and Pierre Boulez but I don’t think they remember me. I did a translation for Sophie Calle before she became Sophie Calle. Also some work for the Royal family of Afghanistan. Back when there was one. At Paris VIII University still in the Bois de Vincennes with the whores whom we did not try to lead to culture I got to attend classes by Lyotard & Deleuze and the Miller Brothers, Lacan’s son in laws? Noam Chosmky spoke. I thought to become a consultant in a moment of delusion and ended up teaching for the last 24 years: Polytechnique, SciencesPo, ENST, INT, Supelec, Ecole Centrale, ENPC, ENSTA, Paris V, ICP, ESIEE, ECE, Ecole du Louvre. Before that I was a technical translator, a field I am happy to report that has been almost entirely taken over by machines, bless their soulless bodies. I also got married and my wife and I had two children. But we hadn’t really grown up much to the needless suffering of the children and so that marriage went painfully bust...Then I married again and we had a daughter. She’s on the phone right now, de rigueur for all 16 year olds. I am a loving observer of the human experiment of which I am inextricably a part, how so ever much I would like to be apart. As we advance, not necessarily progress, into the numbing, memory erasing age of AI, already sinking its canines deep into our pranic jugulars, lose ourselves in our beloved electronic devices, we must look to our hands, our analog writing devices such as pencils and pens and give them a try. Along with all the rest.…

A few years ago, I met Marianne Costa in a garden in Avon, France, along with a mutual friend who was on a pilgrimage to George Gurdjieff’s grave, located just around the corner from where I live. We had a fascinating conversation, during which she spoke insightfully about Tarot and her collaboration with Alejandro Jodorowsky, among other topics. Though I was impressed by her depth of knowledge, I remained somewhat indifferent toward Tarot at the time. A few years later, my wife gifted me The Way of Tarot, which Costa co-authored with Jodorowsky. It turned out to be the most practical and compelling book I had ever read on the subject, sparking a personal journey to explore the symbolism of the Tarot. It wasn’t until a few years after that, during a psycho-magic reading in a smoky bar in Paris, that I realized I had encountered Tarot symbolism before. Synchronicities abound! Bio: Marianne Costa, born 1966, holds a M.A. in comparative literature and is a renowned Tarot expert. She has published several books translated in various languages, among which : No Woman’s Land (novel, Grasset 2004), The Way of Tarot (with Jodorowsky, Inner Traditions 2005, German edition Windpferd 2008) and Metagenealogy (France 2011, USA 2014, a study of family as both a treasure and a trap, also with Jodorowsky). She collaborates with institutions and museums as a symbology expert — most recently with the Guggenheim Collection in Venice and Accademia di Belle Arti in Palermo. Her last opus, an essay on Tarot’s history, symbolism and iconography Le Tarot pas à pas («Tarot step by step ») is already available in French, Spanish and Italian. Her polyfacetic carreer includes being a professional actress and singer, writing and translating poetry, novels and essays, and teaching groups worldwide in Tarot, transgenerational psychology and what she calls « healing fictions », an original technique that combine and surpasses therapy, self-development and artistic expression. She is the translator of Lawrence Ferlinghetti’s poetry in French. Her base is in Paris and she has been a passionate tango dancer and singer for the last decade. A conversation about movies, and about our upcoming course: PARALLAX MOVIE CLUB ‘24: SUMMER OF IMAGINATION For more information or to sign up: https://www.parallax-media.com/courses/course-parallax-movie-club-24-summer-of-imagination-wf6cd About the course: Art and film expand our horizons, transport us out of our mundane, ordinary lives to places greater than heaven, more dreadful than hell, into a war-torn dystopia or a world full of romance, hope, and possibility. Join us on an eclectic journey exploring four powerful films and how their aesthetic, philosophical, and existential elements offer insights into the human condition, into ourselves. Each week we will explore and engage with a different film, unpacking the emotional and psychological factors, celebrating the technical craftsmanship and distinct storytelling, and answer questions about anything and everything related to the films. Andrew Sweeny will begin the Parallax Movie Club: Summer of Imagination with american classic Fight Club, appropriately about reclaiming their identities and transcending the boredom and predictability of corporate life, escaping into a full blown anarchist movement named Project Mayhem. Layman Pascal will host the second session with David Lynch’s Fire Walk with Me. Fire Walk with me is as controversial as Layman, receiving boos at the Cannes Film Festival for it’s shocking, controversial use of imagery and narrative. In Layman’s words “‘Fire Walk with Me’ has some of the most stark and disturbing commentary on abusive and violence in America, but also a truly spiritual emergence of transcendent goodness.” What’s not to like! Robert Gray will reverse the darkness in the third session with Japanese Film-maker Akira Kurosawa’s The Hidden Fortress, as two bumbling military deserters are tricked into helping a princess and her most heroic general escape death and bring the princess to safety. One of Kurosawa’s most well received films, the Hidden Fortress is a great introduction to on of the best directors of all times and a dramatic tale of power, deception, folly, and triumph - oh, and it inspired George Lucas’ star wars (and is much better imo), so if you like adventure and fantasy films, this will be a great time for you! John Vervaeke will take us into the heroic fantasy of The Fall (2006). Critically acclaimed and then virtually lost to the internet due to poor distribution and lack of streaming, The Fall imaginatively challenges the art of storytelling with exotic locations (shot in 24 countries over 4 years of filming), stunning arrays of characters (over 1000 actors participated in the filming), and dramatic narrative as life and fantasy blur for the characters - mystics, warriors, explosive experts, and even a monkey - who grapple with the ups and downs of their complex inner and outer lives.…

A deep conversation and a plug for Luke’s New course: https://www.parallax-media.com/courses/the-hard-way-with-luke-behncke In the early 20th Century, Georges Ivanovich Gurdjieff brought an ancient system of personal transformation to the western world known as the ‘Fourth Way’ or the ‘Work’. He claimed that this system was the source of all spiritual traditions and now adapted for the modern world. Its focus is on the individual and community to understand the energies and forces of their nature through direct experience. In doing so, it would become possible to contact a different order of reality that can deepen the experience of life. Gurdjieff was clear that it is the most difficult work that anyone can undertake, but also the most productive. It calls for relentless authentic questioning and a discipline of special efforts that can enable a quality of relationship that nothing else can give. Gurdjieff affirmed that a sustained work of this kind would accelerate the necessary transformation of men and women to meet the demands of a responsible life while fulfilling their essential purpose. Join Luke Behncke in practically exploring some of the tenets of the Work on Gurdjieff’s Fourth Way - THE HARD WAY - from the Parallax Academy. Live sessions will be recorded, and participants will have access to a video of each recorded class. Participants will have one-on-one interviews with the instructor. On the transition from the postmodern to the metamodern worldview, Brendans new book Metamodernism: Or, The Cultural Logic of Cultural Logics, the relationsship between MM and systems-theory and how to deal with money/capitalism in a metamodern way. Subscribe to our Substack: https://parallax.substack.com/ Parallax: https://parallax-media.eu Brendan Graham Dempsey is a writer, poet, farmer, and the director of Sky Meadow Institute, an organization dedicated to promoting systems-based thinking about the things that matter most. He holds a BA in religious studies from the University of Vermont and a master's in religion and art from Yale University. He is the author of the 7-volume Metamodern Spirituality Series and, most recently, Metamodernism: Or, The Cultural Logic of Cultural Logics. His primary interests include theorizing developments in culture after postmodernism, productively bridging the divide between science and spirituality, and developing sustainable systems for life to flourish. All of these lead through the paradigms of emergence and complexity, which inform all of his work. Tomas Björkman is an entrepreneur and financier, and has over the past 25 years built innovative international companies in the areas of banking and real estate. His entrepreneurship combined with a keen interest in both society and science led to the creation of the the Ekskäret Foundation in 2008. Tomas himself describes in the forewords of the book ‘Changing the world we create’ why he started and is still very involved in foundation: “In my twenties, I had the choice between an academic career in theoretical physics or the world of commerce. I chose the latter and spent twenty-five years in business. Eventually, I sold my company to one of Switzerland’s larger banks continuing for a time to serve on its board. But the call of the world of ideas was irresistible. My background in theoretical physics and as an entrepreneur in information technology, investment banking and property development had allowed me to learn about and view our existence from both theoretical and empirical perspectives. My personal drive increasingly became to unlock the hidden structures of the world around me. I sought to bridge many academic fields including cognitive neuroscience, developmental psychology and sociology. I started searching for connections that form the evolving whole. This curiosity led me to spend a decade researching and writing “The World We Create”. I also established the Ekskäret Foundation to facilitate the co-creation of a more conscious society.…

In many ways, our understanding of and our relationship to our future forms and shapes us. Yet there is a subtle feeling that this relationship with the future itself is currently changing. We are collectively confronted with a lot of problems that are already here or are approaching us fast from a horizon before us, And yet we know that we can´t solve these problems with the current mindset. We don´t even know if our collective framing of that horizon and the events that we are anticipating, is the best one. Nora Bateson is an award-winning filmmaker, writer and educator, as well as President of the International Bateson Institute, based in Sweden. Her work asks the question “How we can improve our perception of the complexity we live within, so we may improve our interaction with the world?” She just publishes her wonderful new book 'Combining', which is an embodiment of her recent work on Warm Data and offers a radical ecological approach to many of the key issues of our time: climate change, political upheaval, education, health, food and relationships. Susanne Cook-Greuter is internationally known as the leading expert in mature ego development and self-actualization. She does ongoing research and development and is outher of the book "Postautonomous Ego Development: A Study of Its Nature and Measurement"…

Daniel Görtz and Michael Garfield in dialogue, hosted by Tom Amarque "Evil is the annunciation of the next level of order" Paleontologist-Futurist Michael Garfield is devoted to helping navigate our age of accelerating weirdness and helping cultivate the curiosity and play we'll need to thrive in it. As host and producer of both Future Fossils Podcast & The Santa Fe Institute's Complexity Podcast, Michael acts as interlocutor for a worldwide community of artists, scientists, and philosophers — a practice that feeds his synthetic and transdisciplinary "mind-jazz" performances in the form of essay, music, and fine art. Standard-bearer for a new generation of boundary-defying scholars, Michael refuses to be enslaved by a single perspective, creative medium, or intellectual community, walking through the walls between academia and festival culture, theory and practice — speaking and performing everywhere from Moogfest to Burning Man, SXSW to Boom Festival, the Commonwealth Bank of Australia to Long Now's Ignite Talks to The Chapel of Sacred Mirrors. Daniel Görtz is the co-author, with Emil Esper Friis, of both “Hanzi Freinacht” books The Listening Society and Nordic Ideology. Daniel’s work approaches what many know as Ken Wilber’s integral theory, but considers its secular and practical application to politics, cultural currents in society, within the arts and beyond. He lives in Sweden and works for Metamoderna, the publisher of metamodern books, and for Glimworks, an IT-company where he is In-House Philosopher.…

We also discuss the dangers of the polarising debate on transgenderism on both sides of the culture war. Some surprising and necessary insights. Rachel Hayden met with her own gender crisis several years ago. Finding the dogma of "trans ideology" insufficient and problematic, she turned to scientists and thinkers on the liminal web for guidance, eventually developing an aspirational model of gender transition for herself. She has become increasingly fascinated by gender over time and has spoken publicly with many others on the subject, including John Vervaeke, Gregg Henriques, and Alexander Bard. Her interest has recently turned toward healthy models of gender for non-trans people, and she is following the work of such thinkers as Bard, Fanny Norlin, and co-presenter Adriana Forte-Naili to enrich her understanding in this regard. Aydan Connor is a Transman who currently works as a craft beer brewer. He has been slowly entering the conversations in the liminal web space after finding John Vervaeke’s Meaning Crisis work through his interview on Jordan Peterson’s podcast. In contrast to the superficial biological essentialist trans debate happening in the anti-woke circles surrounding Jordan Peterson, Aydan quickly discovered John Vervaeke’s interview with Rachel Hayden, which demonstrated a rich and nuanced interest in the psychology and cognitive science of sex and gender, and most importantly, acknowledged the brain as part of our biology. Aydan has been in regular conversation with Rachel, and now also with Adriana, and is increasingly urgent and invested in finding a way to deepen our conversations about gender and sex, hoping to reverse the current trend of scapegoating trans people. Adriana Forte Naili is a coach and facilitator, but she currently spends a lot of her time speaking about the cyclical nature of the female body. Experiencing the double bind of appreciating her cyclical nature and feeling stifled by Modernity’s pressures and expectations, she dove deeply into the question; “how do I show up as a cyclical being in a world that imagines itself linear?” This inquiry has led her into many rabbit holes, including deep explorations of our social constructs and the ways they shape our bodies, our psyches, our relationships and the systems that we create. She has become increasingly active in the “Liminal Web” having conversations with a meta thinkers, futurists and philosophers in an attempt to awaken us from our “linear” daze. She sees both Rachel Hayden and Aydan Connor as friends and colleagues in this journey of bringing nuance to the “gender” conversation. Most Gurus wouldn’t admit to having started a cult. Imagine Osho apologising for creating his cult in Oregon, where his students practised actual bio-terrorism! Impossible to conceive of! But Andrew Cohen is different — a humbled and repentant Guru, which may seem like a contradiction in terms. In any case, Cohen’s harrowing story of meeting the shadow of the Guru is compelling. And in our merciless world of cancel culture, I think it deserves to be told. Cohen has written a new book entitled “The Shadow and the Bodhisattva” — it could have been called The shadow and the Guru. While he clearly admits his failures and blind spots, he also defends his achievements and the Guru principle in general. A word without great spiritual masters — and access to a vertical dimension — is a postmodern flatland. And Cohen asks the question: what does the Guru look like in the post-post-modern age?Andrew Cohen BioParallax academy is an educational and media-based network of friends, writers, teachers, and podcasters offering online study circles, classes, and offline events all over Europe. And what can organisations and communities do to attract them? The aim is to raise awareness about the lifestyle, both for current and aspiring nomads, and to promote and develop the cultural projects that several of our guests are working on. Guests include the familiar Alexander Bard (author of The Netocrats and Digital Libido) and Daniel Fraga (author of Ontological Design), and new guests Serge Faguet (philosopher-entrepreneur), Anastasia Kalinina and Alexandra Seaman (founders of the reState foundation), Dušan Matuška (crypto educator), and Jurij Jukic (Urbit developer). This new course from PARALLAX ACADEMY’s “Rebuilding Spirituality” curriculum - starting March 5th 2023, aims to explore comparative symbolism and examine the differences between eastern and western arcane symbol systems. We will ask ourselves: what is true in magic and mysticism, and what is new-age bullshit? How can we practice symbolic contemplation without self—delusion and fantasy, or falling into various states of 'egregore possession' or ego inflation? What exactly is gnosis, magic, and mysticism and how to distinguish between them? What are the practical uses of symbolic contemplation and work with archetypes? How do we become symbolically literate? We will begin by exploring the so-called 22 "arcanum" of the Tarot card deck from diverse perspectives, such as Valentine Tomberg's Christian Hermeticism, Alister Crowley's Magick, and Alejandro Jodorowsky's psycho-magic. We will then explore what Dion Fortune called the 'yoga of the west' or the Tree of life or Sefirot. We survey some of David Chaim Smith's ideas in his book "The Kabbalistic mirror of Genesis" and his non-dual and "non-emanationist" view of symbolism. Finally, we will look at symbolism from the point of view of Buddhist tantra, my own tradition of practice. There will be lectures and dialogue, readings and meditation. For those who subscribe to the complete package, I will offer one-to-one 'meaning coaching' sessions, which include symbolic exploration, dialogues, and self-inquiry—and even Tarot readings! Please join us for some illuminating and radical fun!…

Layman Pascal has described it thus: The Intellectual Deep Web (a name that parodies and transcends the notorious ""intellectual dark web"") is a contingent of high-powered neo-philosophers lurking at the edges of the so-called Emerge field. They are voracious, combative, obscenely well-read, performative, enticing, offputting, fast & deeply attuned to the leading edges of technosocial, occult, spiritual, psychoanalytic and cultural unfoldment. Their vision of upgrade in a time between worlds is a Dark Renaissance. This concept takes archaic futurism, technophilia, phallic vigor, immanent transcendence, interactivity, emergent informational worldviews, artistry, metalocalism and emergent religion and combines all that with an intoxicating affirmation of negation, dissonance, abysses and exclusionary boundaries. Oh, and don't forget their deep skepticism about the unprocessed sexual and aggressive tendencies that might be locking the rest of us into a toothless and doomed utopianism. https://www.whatisemerging.com/profiles/what-the-hell-is-a-dark-renaissance…

With the guiding star of Rene Girard, Tomas Hamelryck makes an analysis of the present culture and the need to distinguish between ritual time and times of prohibition. Without the release valve of ritual carnival transgression, the murderous scapegoat mechanism and mob will capture the culture; whereas with too much prohibition, the culture becomes rigid and tyrannical. In the present culture, we have ‘unsatisfying ritual time’ in the form of banal entertainment; our prohibitions are unclear and tend to devolve into scapegoating. This is why we need to understand the tension between sutric law (prohibition) and tantric transgression (ritual) and bring back intelligent religious prohibition and satisfying art and collective ritual. Thomas Hamelryck is a Girardian scholar and professor of machine learning. His research focuses on rethinking the foundations of religion from the perspective of mimetic desire, scapegoating and ritual, synthesising Girard, Nietzsche, and eastern tantric religion. Owen Cox and Andrew Sweeny talk to OG Rose ( pen name of Daniel and Michelle Garner) about the creative dance between literature and philosophy. They discuss how literature makes philosophy real by putting ideas into the conflict between different human subjects, requiring the reader to evaluate and undergo their process of self-discovery and self-becoming in reading. They discuss the pitfalls of rationality and intellect divorced from the body and how art helps keep the two together. They think about tragedy and trauma in literature and critique notions of "post-tragedy". And they think about the state of modern literature and culture in general, where it goes wrong, and what it needs. O.G. Rose is the penname of Daniel and Michelle Garner, consisting of Michelle’s maiden, middle, and their shared last name. While at the University of Virginia, O.G. Rose spent several years working collaboratively with other artists at Eunoia, a creative community Rose helped develop. Rose now lives on a farm, manages a wedding venue named Mead Lake Lodge, operates Frozen Glory Photography, and teaches piano using visuals from the DLG Pattern Method. A finalist for the 2020 UNO Press Lab Prize and 46th Pushcart Nominee, Rose’s creative works appear at The Write Launch, Allegory Ridge, Streetlight Magazine, Ponder Review, Iowa Review online, The William and Mary Review, Assure Press, Toho Journal online, West Trade Review, ellipsis, Poydras Review, O:JA&L, Burningword, and Broken Pencil. https://www.og-rose.com/ What is Parallax Sangha? They continue to think about sexual subculture and the broader 20th and 21st century context, then open up a group discussion which begins to explore the idea of ritual time vs ordinary time and how we suffer when the distinctions break down. Raven Connolly has been described as a “digital socialite” and a “philosopher queen”. She is currently travelling Europe and America, exploring and networking with the various underground subcultures of the avant-garde, hippy and tech scenes. The inimitable Layman Pascal will guide you through inner and interpersonal practices appropriate to a trans-secular age of digital, neural, mycelial & social networks. What is required by the dynamic communities around you and within you? What sorts of psychotechnologies work best for a world of links, interconnections and collaborative relationships? How do we generate ritual, sacred togetherness and satisfying existential intensification in a universe of informational networks? Join Layman for embodied wisdom-skill practices, supportive depth-oriented feedback in live Q & A sessions, and special access to advanced theory modules explaining the view necessary to make sense of how we reformat authentic transformational spirituality for our strange and disturbing times. The "campfires" are bonus opportunities to ask questions of Layman in a casual setting about any material from any of the courses. They are also a space to share the results of various practices that one has been trying outside of the course sessions -- as well as a chance to deepen your understanding and share with other people who are also helping to co-create and cultivate the new seriousness and new playfulness of contemporary spirituality. Bio: Layman Pascal is an author, public speaker, yoga teacher, nondualist theologian, meditation advocate & chakra biopsychologist. He is the host of the popular podcast THE INTEGRAL STAGE . This series aims to explore Tarot symbolism—and is a contemplation of the meanings of the main archetypes presented in the Tarot card deck. As a longtime practitioner of Tantric Buddhism, an intensely symbolic and, dare I say, magical path—I’m on a journey to understand the symbolism of western esoteric systems. Tarot and Tomberg’s book seemed like a fun place to start.…
