Techopia Live: Job seekers flock to Technata

Thousands of job seekers converged at the Brookstreet Hotel in Kanata on March 28 to meet face-to-face with local technology companies who are hiring. The event, called Discover Technata, has become the largest technology recruitment event in Ottawa, this year attracting approximately 4,000 people and 40 companies. In this episode of Techopia Live, Ottawa Business Journal publisher Michael Curran speaks with Amanda Gordon of Kanata North Business Association and Amy MacLeod of MDA, an international space mission partner, robotics and satellite systems company with an office in Kanata. The discussion focused on the topsy-turvy technology recruitment scene with some local companies starving for talent and others shedding jobs.
