Upcoming guest Intimacy Coordinator Amy Northup interviews Norma about her journey going from survivor of image-based sexual abuse, to finding an empowering avenue to consensually share content within her own control. Then, Norma talks with Elena Michael, co-founder and director of Not Your Porn, a UK-based sex-positive movement fighting to protect non consenting adults, sex works, and minors from image-based sexual abuse (IBSA). They share what they’ve learned and unlearned through their work advocating for sex workers, and get real about tension within the IBSA movement surrounding sex work. Norma and Elena get into the idea of “calculated risk” in sex-related fields, bystander culture, shaping the culture for tech companies, and the nuances around talking about the porn industry. Elena tells our viewers about the UK’s Online Safety Bill and advocates’ concerns, and shares her thoughts on how we talk to kids about consent and IBSA.
