Luckily, there are some treatment options out there to help manage this MS symptom.

Joining me today is Board Certified Neurologist and Distinguished Fellow, Dr. Kenneth Pugar.

What exactly happens with MS patients that causes bladder dysfunction?
Why is it so common?
Some bladder issues are normal to certain life events. How do you know when it’s time to bring it up to your provider?
Many times this condition can be treated with lifestyle modifications. Can you explain?
If those modifications don’t work, what else can you try?
What is Percutaneous Tibial Nerve Stimulation (PTNS) and how might that help?
In severe cases, is self-catheterizing recommended?
Once treated, will this symptom come back?
Why is it so important to make sure this symptom is managed?
What final suggestions or advice do you have for a patient who is experiencing this for the first time?
