A man came to the Prophet Muhammad (peace and blessings upon him) and said: “O Messenger of God, sometimes I will take a sheep and I intend to slaughter it, but then I have mercy over it." The Prophet (peace and blessings upon him) replied, “And even the sheep, when you grant it mercy, then God the Majestic and Exalted gives you mercy!” We live in a world where animals are routinely mistreated to fuel our insatiable appetites.
