God in the Coincidence: God Remembers His People and His Promises | Esther 8
Manage episode 439366178 series 3594786
LS Community Church live Sunday gathering September 8; teaching by Stan Rodda
Psychologists at the University of Aberdeen looked into the experience of being forgotten and studied how it damaged relationships Dr. Devin Ray explained his research“Scientists have been studying what we remember and forget for decades, but no one has asked why it matters if someone remembers or forgets another person.” One of the main findings in their research was, “Being forgotten affects the closeness of relationships because the forgotten person infers that they are less important to the forgetter.”
Maybe you have experienced this in a marriage, with a close friend, or a family member. And there is a certain level of pain associated with feeling as if you’ve been forgotten by someone.
This happens in our relationship with God also. Many times we may feel as if God has somehow forgotten us. Someone else got the promotion, the nicer house, the new car, the better family life, etc.
As we near the end of the story of Esther, we see the entire narrative reversing itself. Now it’s all heading in a different direction. Everything seemingly being made right again. We discover a significant truth that we need to be reminded of; God remembers His people and His promises.
