Episode 246: A Leader’s Guide to Understanding Grief and Leading with Compassion: An Interview with Jan Davidson
Manage episode 448630294 series 3100509
In a recent interview, I had the privilege of speaking with Jan Davidson, a master life coach specializing in grief recovery and the CEO of Growing Through My Journey. Jan’s perspective on grief, through her personal journey and as a broader leadership lesson, provides valuable insights for leaders striving to connect with and support their teams in meaningful ways.
If you like today's message, here are four ways I can help you grow faster…
1. Speak at your next event.
2. Conduct a full or half-day leadership training workshop.
3. VIP Client: Work with me privately.
4. Learn the system I use to build my brand and business on LinkedIn, based on my work with Tony Robbins and John Maxwell, and how you can use it to do the same.
Jan Davidson
For over 25 years, I've traversed the journey of recovery, triumphing over addiction and its hold on my life. Alongside confronting trauma and grief, this path has granted me a profound insight into their effects. I intimately understand the struggle to reshape debilitating thoughts, emotions, and patterns. Yet, amidst the challenge, I've discovered a fundamental truth: change is achievable, leading to a rediscovered self and a life viewed through "fresh, clear" eyes.
This personal metamorphosis ignited my fervor to support others on their own quests. I am equipped to navigate individuals through transformation, demonstrating that stagnation does not dictate their fate. As I frequently affirm, "With the steadfast encouragement of committed professionals who believed in me, I found the resilience to invest in myself, and so can you.”
My credentials reflect this dedication. I am a certified CADAC II Addiction Counselor, MATS (Medicated Assisted Treatment Specialist), AGRMS (Advanced Grief Recovery Specialist), CCTSA (Clinical Trauma Specialist-Addiction), a Mindfulness Teacher/Practitioner, and a Master Life Coach.
Beyond individual sessions, my influence extends to training initiatives. As a Trainer for the SAMSHA Gains Center, I lead workshops on "How Being Trauma-Informed Improves Criminal Justice Responses." This program educates and empowers law enforcement, the judiciary, corrections personnel, and anyone interfacing with clients within the criminal justice system.
What propels me forward? Bearing witness to the spark of hope igniting within others, empowering them to reclaim joy, embrace change, and wholeheartedly invest in themselves. That, to me, is the ultimate reward, and I am here to accompany you on your journey to rediscovery.
