In 1990, at seventeen, a new york jury convicted Jeffrey Deskovic for the murder of a fifteen-year-old classmate based on police testimony. Deskovic spent sixteen years fighting the conviction, eventually winning his release and a sizable settlement from the state of NY. Deskovic used the money he received to establish the Desovic Foundation a non-profit organization dedicated to the exoneration of the wrongfully convicted, their recovery, and justice reform.
Jeffrey Deskovic holds a bachelor's degree from Mercy College, a Masters from John Jay College of Criminal Justice, and a JD from Pace Law School.
